Summer Schools of the EAA

 

  1st EAA Summer School in 2007

Organizers:

Pavel BLAHA, Ivan MAZURA and Zbynek SMAHEL (Charles University, Faculty of Sciences, Deptartment of Anthropology and Human Genetics, Prague, Czech Republic) and
Charles SUSANNE (President of the EAA, Free University Brussels, Brussels, Belgium), under the auspices of the rector of the Charles University and of the dean of the Faculty of Sciences

The EAA decided in Budapest in 2006 to hold the first intensive summer course in Prague, Czech Republic. The objective of the course was to introduce the general anthropological concepts, also in the related disciplines such as human evolution and basis of human genetics. Our intensive course of anthropology was not a meeting of international conferences and did not consist largely of research activities but only general teaching activities. These teaching activities were occurring inside the Erasmus-related activities for Master's students. Participating students received academic credit (8 ECTS).

Proposals for future summer schools can be submitted to the Secretariat of the EAA. They should comprise the following minimum information: main themes of the course, suggestions of invited lecturers, suggestions for date and place, suggestion for the number of participants, details about the venue, accommodation, student rooms, facilities for catering, tentative estimation of registration fee, ...
